FAQs
This section will help you determine if we're a good match for your next project. Below you will find more about what I do, and how I do it. Also, you will find answers to some of the most commonly asked questions I get by new clients. Basically, I want to ensure that we're a good fit for each other. Sounds good, right?
Where can I see your previous work?
Right Here.
What if you miss a deadline?
This has never happened, but if it does, I'll happily discount your final rate.
What if I miss a deadline?
This whole process works because we both have strict deadlines. If you can't dedicate time to the project, this isn't a good fit. That said if it should work, but you can't keep up your end of the timeline for any reason, billing at my day rate starts after the end date passes.
What is a round of revisions?
One round of revisions means that you give me a single list of the changes you'd like made. Because this work is done on a timeline, it's important, to sum up all your thoughts and changes in a single place (one call or email) and to hand those over to me.
What is brand identity design?
The golden arches, the hand-written cola logo mark we associate with Christmas, the tick - logos are often the first thing that comes to mind when talking about brands, however they are also just one of many aspects of a brand identity. Ponder for a second the possible points of interaction a prospective client might come into visual or physical contact with when interacting with your business, what elements would you consider — typefaces perhaps? what about graphic style, layout, photography style, stationary, invoices, uniforms, carrier bags, vehicle graphics or livery and social media. The list may go on.
It is therefore of utmost importance that every single design element an employee or customer may interact with mirrors the value and quality of what you offer. If this is not the case then you run the risk of creating a dissociation between that which people discern and the image you want to establish. Investing in brand identity design is to invest in something that will, when implemented with top products and or services, bring returns every year, all the while also working passively turning prospective consumers into faithful clients.
What does it cost?
Each quote may vary from company to company and project to project, usually there are a number of things I take into consideration before sending over a proposal. Reach out to me through email and walk me through your problem and your business, which direction you'd like to head in, and how you'd like me to help. I'll get back to you with a figure asap.
How long do projects take?
The duration of projects can vary, usually ranging anywhere from two weeks to a couple of months, they are dependent on the quantity of work required, in addition, the amount of people we'll present to and persuade on the most functional design solution. Reach out with your problem and I can give you a projected custom timeline.
Do you follow a process?
Generally something along the lines of... setting up the project brief, researching and analysing your business, competitors and needs, drafting and brainstorming ideas, digitisation, presenting and iterating, refining - However it must be mentioned that no two companies or clients are alike, this means that things will differ and therefore require specific design solutions. The imperative is my interest, your confidence and our synergy.
For more information on my process and a broad overview of what's involved and expected from me and you head over to my 'Design Process' page.
Do you need something from me?
Like for any other joint project, communication is vital. We will discuss what you wish to solve and your expectations, possible solutions and the dynamics involved. I'll then make sure to check whether the final provided solution fits and ensure it will persist.
What if we're in different countries?
I've had the pleasure of working with people from different cultures and backgrounds, this is a by-product of the craft, after I finish a project clients refer me to other prospective clients and through word-of-mouth the work becomes international in nature. I don't mind meeting in person, talking on the phone, through video calls, letters, carrier pigeons you name it. No, in all seriousness email is most preferable as we both get to save a lot of time from travelling.
